500 Club Facade Grants - Now Open!
Are you a Frederick business owner who wants to spruce up the exterior of your commercial building? If so, the Frederick Chamber of Commerce 500 Club is accepting applications for facade improvement grants. The program, which was launched by the Chamber in 2005, can provide up to $500 to Frederick businesses for purchase of exterior paint, signage, or other items to improve the appearance of your business.
A limited number of the grants will be funded. Applications will be accepted at the Frederick Chamber of Commerce until noon on Friday, October 31, 2025. Grant awards will be notified by Friday, November 7 and work must be completed by Friday, November 28, 2025 for the grant to be paid out.
Membership in the Frederick Chamber of Commerce is not a requirement for businesses to submit grant applications, but preference will be given to Chamber members in making the grant awards.
The grants will fund purchase of exterior paint or other materials only and purchase of the materials must be made from Frederick retailers. The grants will not pay for interior paint or labor.
Funds for the grants are generated by the Chamber’s 500 Club which is made up of local individuals who chose to donate $5 (or 500 cents) per month for projects that promote or uplift Frederick. Since launching the paint grant program, the Chamber has given away over $4,500 and hopes to continue the program each year.
“The paint grant project has been very well received and supported by Frederick businesses and by the people of Frederick,” said Felisha Crawford, former executive director of the Frederick Chamber and 500 Club Committee Member. “We appreciate the opportunity to assist local businesses in this way with paint-up, spruce-up projects.”
The Chamber philosophy that guides the grants is that a brighter, more attractive Frederick is good for business and for tourism. It also makes Frederick a more pleasant place to live.
