Abernathy Boys Day Celebration, Pioneer Townsite, Sat, June 1st
The Tillman County Historical Society is working hard on plans for the next Abernathy Boys Celebration, which will be on Saturday, June 1st. This year Vintage Cars and Motorcycles Invited to attend the event. On that day, owners of vintage automobiles and motorcycles are invited to come to Frederick to show off their vehicles and recreate the spirit of adventure that marked the Abernathy era. The celebration will focus on cars and motorcycles from the early 1900s through the 1930s. Owners of all vehicles from the era are encouraged to participate in the fun, one-of-a-kind celebration. Special attractions that day will be Brush Automobiles and early Indian Motorcycles. The car display will begin at 10:00 a.m. and run through late afternoon, with a barbeque dinner, program and entertainment planned for that evening at the adjacent Pioneer Townsite Museum.
The Dinner will be served at 6pm, tickets are available now at the Chamber Office, the dinner will include BBQ, beans, chips and a drink. Tickets will be $8 for adults and only $5 for kids 12 and under.
Entertainment is being provided by the Frederick Arts Council, and will feature the Southwest Oklahoma Country Singers! The SWOCS are Walt Hoehne on guitar and as emcee,Gary Kellison rhythm guitar, Laverne Anderson vocal, Bill Jones guitar, Freddie Burnett, Harry Ray on harmonica. This is part of the "Concerts in the Park" Series, and is free and open to the public! The music will kick off at 6:30pm.

Food Vendors Needed for Abernathy Day
In conjunction with the Abernathy Day Celebration in Frederick on Saturday, June 1, 2013, the Frederick Chamber is seeking local food vendors to sell lunch items for those in attendance at the event. The food booth area will be west of the Tillman County Courthouse. Electricity will be available by request. Each 10'x10' food booth space will be $20. Full payment must be received by the Frederick Chamber to secure the spot, and to claim a food item. For more information, call the Frederick Chamber of Commerce at 580-335-2126.

Frederick's City Wide garage sale will be on Saturday June 8th
.The usual yard sale fee will be waived for sales held on Saturday. Register your sale by calling the Chamber Office at 580-335-2126. Lists of sales will be posted on the chamber website and outside the Chamber office.
Concerts in the Park Returns in June!
These Free Concerts are sponsored by the Frederick Arts Council, and will be held at the Pioneer Townsite Museum, and begin at 7pm. Bring you lawn chair to enjoy! Saturday, June 8th will feature Vinson Orr and friends, and then on June 15th Rachel Hutchins of Lawton will perform songs on her guitar!

Crawford Collection

The Crawford Collectionin downtown Frederick is a private collection of more than 160 animal trophy mounts that were collected from throughout the world by Frederick’s Crawford family.
WWII Airborne Demonstration Team Hangar and Headquarters
The World War II Airborne Demonstration Team, Frederick Airport, Southeast of Frederick. During World War II Frederick was home to Frederick Army Air Field. The World War II Airborne Demonstration Team Foundation has established its headquarters at the Frederick airport in the sole remaining hangar that has been preserved from that time. The team honors veterans through WWII style static line parachute jumps at events throughout the United States and Europe.

Hackberry Flat Center
Visit Hackberry Flat Wetlands, a restored wetland that attracts thousands of migratory birds including Whooping Cranes and other rare species. Be sure to visit the Hackberry Flat Center for updated birding information. Located Southeast of Frederick, go South on Hwy 183 and follow the signs.
